Developing growth mindsets in engineering students: a systematic literature review of interventions

Dropout from engineering studies has been linked to ‘fixed mindset’ beliefs of intelligence as fixed-at-birth that make students more likely disengage when facing new challenges. In contrast, ‘growth can be improved with effort persist confronting difficulties. This systematic literature review engineering, education and psychology databases explores the effectiveness different interventions in developing growth mindset students, what measures have used assessing these who benefited interventions, terms gender year study. We compare by geographical location, intervention type, methodology for mindsets, other topics studied, effectiveness. The results show a variation among fifteen included studies. findings will useful educators want encourage thereby support academic success their students.
